THE SENIOR HIGH YOUTH GROUP
or SYG, is a program for all youth in grades 9-12. It is sponsored jointly by the First Congregational Church
and our sister UCC church, the East Woodstock Congregational Church (860-928-7449).
We have activities every week so check our news blog above for updates and photos.

CONFIRMATION CLASS is for ninth graders and others in upper grades who would
like to explore Christian discipleship and renew the promises parents make when children are baptized. There are classes with
the Pastor and lay leaders. The group makes an annual trip to New York City for the Nightwatch program at the Cathedral of
St John the Divine. |

COMPASSION CAMP for students in grades 7 through 10, is a week-long
summer day camp sponsored by the First Congregational Church of Woodstock and the East Woodstock Congregational Church.
The camp provides service learning for youth in a variety of local settings as well as leadership training for older youth.
Our campers have volunteered at local sites such as the Center of Hope in Southbridge, Pierce Baptist Home in Brooklyn, Adventures
in the City in Hartford and Thompson Ecumenical Empowerment Group.
GIV2 NORTHEAST is a program of service learning for youth in grades 7-12. We collaborate with several other area churches
to gather for local outreach activities four times per year. Our “Giv2 Northeast” chapter is one of many sponsored
by the CT Conference of the UCC. Join our facebook group “Giv2 NE 11-12” for more information.
JUNIOR YOUTH FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM Junior Youth Group is for youth in grades 5-8. This group meets about twice each month for service, fellowship, games
and bible study. Annual events include the fall bonfire, winter lock in and Memorial Day hot dog sale. Leaders are Jennifer
