“Building strong roots of faith,

branching out with acts of peace and justice.”

Helping Youth Connect…

- to the music and stories of our faith which inspire, comfort, and guide us.

- to a faith community which offers nurturing love and wisdom.

- to friends who seek to grow closer to God and have fun in whole and healthy ways.

- and to neighbors in the world who need compassion and kindness.

SENIOR HIGH YOUTH GROUP

The Senior High Youth Group, or SYG, is a program for all youth in grades 9-12. It is sponsored jointly by the First Congregational Church and our sister UCC church, the East Woodstock Congregational Church (860-928-7449).

We have activities every week so check our news blog above for updates and photos. Friends are welcome at all events. Part time Director of Youth Ministries Debby Kirk can be reached at 928-3215 or by email at Debby@hillchurch.org

CONFIRMATION CLASS is for eighth graders and others in upper grades who would like to explore Christian discipleship and renew the promises parents make when children are baptized. There are classes with the Pastor and lay leaders. The group makes an annual trip to New York City for the Nightwatch program at the Cathedral of St John the Divine.

COMPASSION CAMP for students in grades 7 through 10, is a week-long summer day camp sponsored by the First Congregational Church of Woodstock and the East Woodstock Congregational Church.  The camp provides service learning for youth in a variety of local settings.  Our 2008 group volunteered at Center of Hope in Southbridge, Pierce Baptist Home in Brooklyn, Adventures in the City in Hartford and Thompson Ecumenical Empowerment Group.

 JUNIOR YOUTH FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

Junior Youth Group is for youth in grades 5-8. This group meets about twice each month for service, fellowship, games and bible study. Annual events include the fall bonfire, winter lock in and Memorial Day hot dog sale. Leaders are Jennifer and Rob John and Diane Peterson.  Contact Jennifer John at 974-3489 for more information.
