DAVID, THE BOY

January 8 ~ January 22

david.jpg

David, a mere Hebrew shepherd boy, believing God would be with him, volunteered to take on powerful Goliath in a battle against the Philistines. There was no armor small enough for David, so he faced Goliath unprotected. After choosing five small stones from the stream, he met Goliath with only his slingshot. With only one stone, he defeated the Philistine, and became a hero to his people.

Missions Projects

This year our theme will be “Feed Our Bodies and Our Souls.” Children will learn about the ways we can help combat hunger in our local community and world wide.  We will work on three mission projects.  Our first project is Fill the Ark, a program created by Heifer International.  Stay tuned for our next project which will commence in November.

 What is Fill the Ark?

Fill the Ark is a daily mission giving program created by Heifer International that runs for 4 weeks.

How Can I Help Fill the Ark if I am a Kid?

v     Attend Sunday School October 2nd and pick up your ark bank and calendar

v     Each day for 4 weeks read the cool fact on your calendar and determine how much money your family should place in the bank

v     Bring you bank back to Sunday School on Sunday, October 30th when we will celebrate our success with some special activities.  We will also decide how we will help FILL THE ARK!

How Can I Help Fill the Ark If I’m a Grownup?

v     Look for the Fill the Ark display in Harrison Hall after the church service and make a contribution to one of the ark banks.
