COMPASSION CAMP is a week-long summer program for students who have completed
grades 6-9. This day camp is sponsored jointly by the First Congregational Church of Woodstock and the East Woodstock
Congregational Church. The camp provides service learning for youth in a variety of local settings. Compassion
Camp 2012 will be held during the week of July 23-27. Here’s what our youth say
about Compassion Camp: “I learned how to be more patient when we worked with the people from
Center of Hope. I saw how difficult things were for them and I wanted to help in any way I could.” “I
think the blessing I got from the week was having a chance to give back.” “ I will volunteer
more often as a result of Compassion Camp.” Begun in the summer of 2006, Compassion Camp activities
have included a variety of service and recreational activities for middle school youth. Over the past several

As God’s chosen ones,
holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with COMPASSION, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with one another and,
if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord* has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. Above all, put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
~Colossians
