Senior High Youth Group (SYG) is a program
for youth in grades 9-12 which is sponsored jointly by the First Congregational Church and our sister UCC church, the East
Woodstock Congregational Church. Our part-time Director of Youth Ministries is Debby Kirk (860-928-3215) Debby@hillchurch.org. Our program is supported by Youth Leaders and a
Youth Ministry Team composed of adult members from both churches. These volunteers help with planning, snacks, transportation,
and chaperoning. SYG provides a variety of events to promote community service, fellowship, spiritual
growth, and recreation. Our purpose is to foster spiritual development and discipleship with Jesus Christ as our guide. We
seek to nurture relationships between youth and faithful adults at our Sunday night meetings, retreats, and mission trips.
SYG meets each week from September through June. Friends are welcome at all events. Check our Youth Group News/Activities
Blog for details about events. We encourage Youth to participate
in the overall life of the church community. Our teens do valuable ministry assisting with Church school, nursery care, Handbell
choir, Senior choir, Compassion Camp, the Woodstock Fair Chicken Barbeque, Christmas on the Hill, and church dinners.

The Youth Ministry Team includes members from this congregation as well as from East
Woodstock. The committee meets once per month to provide planning input for youth activities and to lend tangible support
in actualizing those plans. Some team members serve as chaperones for the various youth events. Adults interested in volunteering
are encouraged to contact the Debby Kirk at 928-3215.
